Tempe Community Council accepting nominations for Don Carlos Humanitarian Awards

Posted

Tempe Community Council announced that nominations are now open for the 41st annual Don Carlos Humanitarian Awards.

These awards recognize individuals who have demonstrated exceptional dedication to improving the lives of others by celebrating the spirit of compassion and service within the Tempe community, a release explained.

The awards are named after Tempe’s founder, Charles Trumbull Hayden – known affectionately by the Hispanic pioneers as “Don Carlos” – who spent his life working to help those in need.

The Don Carlos Humanitarian Award embodies Hayden’s legacy and spirit and is considered one of Tempe’s most prestigious distinctions, the release stated. Winners of this award exemplify true humanitarianism and have made Tempe a better place for everyone.

Individuals from all walks of life are eligible for nomination, including volunteers, activists, philanthropists and community leaders. Nominations can be submitted online through the TCC website until Monday, June 10.

The awards ceremony, scheduled for later this fall, will bring together community members, civic leaders and honorees to celebrate the contributions of this year’s award recipients.
