Sun City West club members meet for weekend ‘crop’

Members of Scrapbooking, Papercrafts & More recently held its springtime, all-day “creative crop” at the Beardsley Center. In addition to working on individual paper crafting projects, the event included a breakfast and lunch potluck, a decorative paper and craft supply trade, raffle prizes and a couple card making classes.

Member Sherre Chapin taught a simple card in which watercolor paints or pastel chalks were employed to create a brightly colored orb; then using a marker, words and details were added by hand to create a delightful watercolor flower design.

Member Donna Barr taught a Double Pocket card that entailed inserting color coordinating rivets into the design; the rivets served a dual purpose by holding the pocket layers together while also adding a decorative element.

Learn artistic stamping, how to make greeting cards or create a family scrapbook (traditional or digital) by joining SPAM in the Beardsley Center’s Agave Room on Wednesdays (4-9 p.m.), Thursdays (10 a.m.-3 p.m.), Fridays (10 a.m.-3 p.m.) and Saturdays (10 a.m.-5 p.m.).
