Born September 10, 1936 in Keokuk, Iowa, passed away February 4, 2024 at the age of 87. Ray enjoyed his family, coaching soccer and woodworking. He was married to Vivian(Sis)Weiny on June 15,1957 in Keokuk, Iowa, married for 65 years. He graduated from Keokuk, Iowa High School, 1954 and attended a 2 year Turf Management course at Penn State University. He served three years in the US Navy and was a Golf Course Superintendent for 40 years in the states of Iowa, Illinois, Wisconsin and Arizona; finally retiring from the City of Phoenix in 1999. He was also a Certified Mineral Manager. Memberships include: Chatham (IL) Masonic Lodge (50 years), National Association of Royalty Owners, Peoria (AZ), American Legion (Post 62), Peoria Diamond Club since 2001, and Community of Grace Lutheran Church. He is preceded in death by his wife, Vivian Marie(Weiny)Harris, parents Ralph E and Ethlyn G Harris, and son Dale Harris. He is survived by his children David Harris(Doris)and Dawn Longfellow(Pat)as well as 8 grandchildren and 8 greatgrandchildren. Contributions: Community of Grace Lutheran Church 10561 W.
