Spinato’s Pizzeria in Tempe debuts carb-free pizza crust

Posted

Tempe-based Spinato's Pizzeria & Family Kitchen continues to celebrate its 50th anniversary in May and June, launching a new chicken-based pizza crust.

Spinato’s Pizzeria & Family Kitchen and ZeroCarb LYFE, the Indiana-based innovator in carb-free alternatives, recently formed a partnership to provide a delicious chicken-based pizza crust for guests who seek a carb-free alternative to flour, according to a press release.

The gluten-free pizza crust is made with four simple ingredients: premium chicken breast, olive oil, salt and spices.

Spinato’s guests ordering pizza can request the chicken-based pizza crust for all of their pizzas, except the Stay Golden Pizza. A 10” chicken-based pizza crust has 90 calories, 16 grams of protein and zero grams of carbs or sugar, the release detailed. The crust option is also available for delivery and take-out orders.

“We’re always mindful of guests who have special dietary needs, and we were impressed with ZeroCarb LYFE’s gluten-free pizza crust. It’s redefining the pizza game without compromising on taste,” Anthony Spinato, president of Spinato’s Pizzeria & Family Kitchen, stated in the release.

ZeroCarb LYFE Co-Founder and CEO Omar Atia said the chicken-based pizza crust is also dairy and sugar-free and keto-friendly. It is also free of fillers, binders, nuts, soy and wheat.

“This partnership not only aligns with our values but also marks our strategic expansion into Arizona, bringing our carb-free alternatives to new enthusiasts," Atia, stated in the release.

On Friday, May 17, National Pizza Party Day, Spinato’s will provide free samples of the savory chicken-based pizza crust at all six locations during lunch hour and from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m.

“When I think about how much our menu has changed over the past five decades, I’m proud of our Spinato’s team for keeping an open mind, especially when it comes to healthy alternatives to our pizza ingredients,” Spinato stated. “We’ve learned over the years that we can experiment in the kitchen and provide healthy, flavorful alternatives to our traditional recipes. It all boils down to providing the best Spinato’s experience we can for our guests.”
