A 75-year-old woman died Sunday in west Phoenix after being stabbed by another woman, Phoenix police said.
At about 1:45 p.m. April 14, a woman told officers at a Phoenix Police Department precinct that she stabbed the victim, Ruby Pittman, 75, inside a residence near 49th Drive and Lewis Avenue.
Police responded and found Pittman with at least one stab wound. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
Detectives took over the investigation and said the woman who reported the stabbing at the precinct “again made admissions about being responsible for the murder of Pittman,” according to a release.
The two are family members, but the specific relationship has not been released. Police said Sunday the suspect was being booked.
