Independent Newsmedia
Zao Theatre, 550 S. Ironwood Ave. in Apache Junction, reopened with “The Winter Wonderettes” entertaining at their Harper’s Hardware Christmas party. Shows began Dec. 10 and will be held through Dec. 20.
“The Winter Wonderettes musical is just plain fun. Sit back and enjoy as Missy, Suzy, Cindy Lou and Betty Jean, each with her own unique personality — and color scheme — as they insert their own special brand of humor into the holiday festivities,” according to a release.
“When Santa turns up missing, the girls must use their talent and creative ingenuity to save the holiday party. Along the way you’ll be treated to classic (sometimes wacky) Wonderette versions of traditional seasonal song favorites such as ‘Jingle Bell Rock,’ ‘Sleigh Ride,’ ‘Santa Baby,’ ‘Winter Wonderland’ and over 20 more. They all remind us Christmas is coming; the result is nothing short of marvelous,” the release states.
Winter Wonderettes was written and created by Roger Bean with vocal arrangements by Mr. Bean and Brian Baker. Musical arrangements are by Mr. Baker.
Tickets are $28 for adults, $15 for children 6-12. For tickets and other information call 480-924-5122 or go to zaotheatre.com.
