Two people sustained minor injuries after a crash in Peoria near a bus stopped that had been damaged in a earlier, separate incident.
The accident occurred at about 7 a.m. April 3 near the intersection of 71st and Peoria avenues.
According to Peoria Police Department Officer Brandon Sheffert, three vehicles were involved. A preliminary investigation revealed one vehicle was travelling northbound on 71st Avenue with a green light when an eastbound vehicle on Peoria Avenue possibly ran a red light. The two vehicles collided, causing them to strike a third vehicle.
Peoria Fire-Medical Department officials transported two people two the hospital, including one driver, with minor injuries.
Police do not believe impairment was a factor.
A bus stop near the crash was damaged overnight when a vehicle ran into it. The two incidents are not related.
No one was at the bus stop at the time of either incident, Peoria Fire spokesman Tim Eiden stated in an email.
