Surprise police identify motorcyclist killed in collision

A 19-year-old man was the motorcyclist who died Tuesday evening during a collision in Surprise, police said.
The incident occurred before 6:15 p.m. Dec. 5 near Bell Road and Sunrise Boulevard, just east of the Loop 303.
The Surprise Police Department responded to a report of a traffic collision at the intersection. Upon arrival, officers learned there were multiple vehicles involved, including one motorcycle.
Medical personnel declared the motorcyclist dead at the scene. Police identified him as 19-year-old Tyler Deskins of Surprise. Mr. Deskins was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash, police said.
No other individuals sustained life-threatening injures, although one individual was transported to a Valley hospital for treatment.
The cause of the accident is under investigation.
No criminal or civil charges are pending at this time.
Investigators have not been able to determine if impairment was a contributing factor in the collision.
Police are investigating speed as a factor in the collision.
The area was blocked off while police investigated.
