Incoming students and their families are invited to come see what kindergarten in a Peoria school is all about at a Connect to Kindergarten event. Connect to Kindergarten provides an opportunity to tour the school, meet teachers and staff. Parents can also learn how to prepare their child for kindergarten.

Connect to Kindergarten events are happening soon. Contact the neighborhood school or refer to the Connect to Kindergarten event schedule on the district’s website,  www.peoriaunified.org/ kindergarten.

The first day of school for the 2017-18 school year is Wednesday, Aug. 9.

Parents should bring a registration packet, the child’s original birth certificate, upto- date immunization records and proof of residency in the district when registering for kindergarten. A utility bill or lease agreement is acceptable.

Enrollment forms can be found on the district’s website at www.peoriaunified.org/kindergarten or obtained at any Peoria Unified elementary school office.

Families who live outside of the district’s boundaries can register their child for a Peoria Unified school by filling out an Open Enrollment Form and bringing it to the school of their choice.

To get an inside look at what full-day kindergarten is all about, check out the video here.

For more information, call your neighborhood school or contact the district office at 623-486-6000.
