The Peoria Unified School District’s Career & Technical Education Department is hosting a middle level SkillsUSA competition for Technology Life and Careers students from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. March 11 at Sunrise Mountain High School, 21200 N. 83rd Ave., Peoria.
More than 300 students from 18 elementary schools within the district will be competing this year. There will be a variety of competitions at the event that will showcase the many classes offered through the TLC program at the elementary school level.
Event competitions will include: Robotics, Cake Decorating, CO2 Dragsters, Crime Scene Investigations, Shark Tank Marketing, Video Productions, Fashion Design and Special Effects Makeup.
A fashion show will be held in the auditorium at 11 a.m., followed by a special effects show at 11:15 a.m. After lunch, a film festival will be held at 12 p.m. Awards will be given to students at 1 p.m.
