Linda McThrall joined Independent Newsmedia in September 2023. Prior to that she had been working at the L. Alan Cruikshank River of Time Museum & Exploration Center.

When the opportunity arose to work at the Fountain Hills Times Independent, McThrall jumped at the chance. She started her journalism career in 1976 at the Fountain Hills Times, left for a while and returned to the newspaper in 2005 where she worked until going to the museum, named after the Times’ publisher, Alan Cruikshank.

McThrall has lived in Phoenix for more than 50 years. She was born in Durango, Colorado, attended high school in Oklahoma City and moved to Phoenix to attend Arizona State University where she earned her bachelor's degree in journalism. She is married with one adult daughter.

Most of her career has been spent in newspapers as a reporter. She also worked as special publications editor with The Times. She took a break from journalism working as executive director of a nonprofit mental health education foundation.

She loves working as a copy editor with INI and looks forward to continuing in that role.
