Humrich: Renewable energy important for Arizona

Posted

Living in Arizona, we are surrounded by boundless natural potential, but as anyone who has hiked Piestewa Peak on a summer day or paid their electric bill in June knows, clean energy matters. I always want to do my part, but I think it’s even more important that our state is doing everything it can to embrace renewable energy.

Clean and renewable energy is a necessity for our state, and I’m glad our leaders are recognizing this. We live in one of the sunniest places in the planet, we would do well to embrace this! Arizona continuing to expand its renewable energy production will lead to more jobs, more opportunities, and cheaper access to sustainable energy.

Arizona is my home, and I hope to stay here long after I graduate. For me and many of my classmates, that decision is determined by the economic outlook of this state and the cost of living. I see an embrace of clean power giving a jolt of energy to both.
