Ironwood Drive lane restrictions begin Jan. 18
Posted
Beginning Jan. 18 through July 2021, Ironwood Drive north of Germann Road will be restricted to one lane in each direction while crews begin widening the road in preparation for the future State Route 24.
The work will be done in phases, with traffic shifted around the work zone. Initially, traffic will be shifted to the outside lane in each direction while crews work in the median, according to a release.
ADOT urges all to slow down and use caution around construction personnel and equipment while the following initial restrictions are in place during January — North- and south-bound Ironwood Drive will be restricted to one lane in each direction Jan. 18-31.
The Arizona Department of Transportation, in conjunction with the Federal Highway Administration, is constructing the Interim Phase II section of State Route 24 (SR 24) also referred to as Gateway Freeway. This section will include approximately five miles of new freeway extending from Ellsworth Road in Maricopa County to Ironwood Drive in Pinal County.
Schedules are subject to change based on weather and other unforeseen factors. For more information, call the ADOT Bilingual Project Information Line at 855-712-8530 or go to azdot.gov/contact and select Projects from the drop-down menu. For real-time highway conditions statewide, visit ADOT’s Traveler Information Site at www.az511.gov, follow ADOT on Twitter (@ArizonaDOT) or call 511, except while driving.
