Goodyear police have arrested two men in connection with the death of a father of two children earlier this month.

Police responded to a residential neighborhood southwest of Cotton Lane and Van Buren Street on April 10 in reference to several reports of shots fired.
Arriving officers located 29-year-old Antoine Rogers of Goodyear dead at the scene. Mr. Rogers' wife and children, ages 2 and 8, were also at the home.
After serving a search warrant on his Phoenix address, Goodyear police on Thursday arrested 20-year-old Anthony Perry Michael Cornejo.
Police said the motive for the crime appears to be drug-related.
Court records show Mr. Cornejo told police he drove the vehicle used to flee the scene. One of the suspects reportedly sustained a gunshot wound and was taken to a hospital, where he told Phoenix police he was shot near 55th Avenue. However, police did not find evidence of shooting there. The unidentified male was found to have items related to the shooting (bandana, gloves) in his possession at the hospital, according to documents.

Witnesses told police three to four Latino males wearing bandanas were seen leaving the area. Police believed the incident to be an isolated incident.
"This case is still under investigation," Officer Lisa Kutis stated when asked about the search for others involved.
Police on Friday announced the arrest of another suspect, Joseph Gutierrez, 23, after his release from the hospital.
Both suspects were booked into the Maricopa County Sheriff's Office Fourth Avenue Jail. Both face a first-degree murder charge.
