The commercial baking and pastry arts program at the East Valley Institute of Technology is taking orders for its annual Thanksgiving bake sale. All items are baked and prepared by students in the culinary school at EVIT.

This year’s menu features 29 items, including new treats such as pumpkin chai pie and gingerbread blondies. On the savory side, the students will also be selling sweet potato casserole, cranberry relish and turkey stock.

Orders can be placed at evit.com/bakesale through Nov. 17. Items can be picked up between 8:30 a.m. and 4 p.m. Monday, Nov. 20 and Tuesday, Nov. 21 in the Culinary Banquet Hall at the EVIT Main Campus, 1601 W. Main St. in Mesa. EVIT will be closed Nov. 22-24 for Thanksgiving break.

All proceeds benefit student programs in the culinary school at EVIT.

EVIT provides career training for East Valley high school students and Phoenix-area adults at two central campuses in Mesa, including the Main Campus, 1601 W. Main St.. The Power Campus opened in 2011 to accommodate the needs of a growing population in the southeast Valley.
