Recreation Centers of Sun City West Governing Board Director Dean Cross resigned, effective Feb. 13, citing personal reasons.

Mr. Cross was the board’s secretary and golf chair chairman. A golf symposium he was organizing for March 22 has been canceled.

The Governing Board will convene a special session immediately following its regularly scheduled meeting 9 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 22 in the social hall at R.H. Johnson Recreation Center, 19803 R.H. Johnson Blvd., to decide how to fill the vacancy. The special session will be conducted in the governing board conference room.

Mr. Cross’s term runs through June 30, 2019. Per the Bylaws, the person appointed to fill the vacancy will serve through June 30, 2018. Then the board will then vote to choose someone to fill the remainder of the term from July 1, 2018, through June 30, 2019.
