Author pens book on diabetes care

Sun City West resident MengHee Tan has published a  new book telling the stories of the evolution of diabetes care.

In “Innovations in Diabetes,” Dr. Tan chronicles many innovations uncovered by various researchers around the world during diabetes’ more than 3 millennia journey, many in the last 50 years.

This book is replete with dramatic stories, some already made into spellbinding movies. Dr. Tan brings to life tales of this “sweet pee” or “too sweet” malady, from when it was first described in ancient times to today’s ways of preventing it and its dreaded complications as well as inducing remission in type 2 diabetes.

In the United States, about 25% of adults older than 60 years have diabetes, a common, costly and serious disease.

“Innovations in Diabetes” enables readers to appreciate and understand where we have been and where we are today in diabetes.

Visit mengheetanmd.com for more information. The book is available at amazon.com or barnesandnoble.com.
