Three Glendale residents were newly appointed to serve on public committees and boards.
Mayor Jerry Weiers on Tuesday administered the oath of office for appointees Robert Escobedo to the commission on diverse cultures, Oscar Gonzalez to the community development advisory committee, and Meegan Tosh to the library advisory board.
“It is vital to the overall health and welfare of our community to have resident involvement in the oversight and governance of the services our taxpayers fund,” Mayor Weiers shared in a statement. “Equally important is the unique insight only dedicated Glendale residents can bring to our commissions and committees.”
Glendale residents looking to serve their community or who have a special interest or expertise in a particular field can apply for one of the city’s boards or commissions.
Applications are always accepted, and annual appointments are made every January. Appointments are also made throughout the year as vacancies occur.
The city keeps applications on file for two years and residents will be contacted if their application has been recommended by a City Council member.
