Two high schools in the Queen Creek Unified School District placed among the top 100 high schools in the state as ranked by U.S. News & World Report.

Eastmark High School in Mesa ranked 55th in the state and Queen Creek High ranked 69th.

Every year U.S. News & World Report puts out its rankings of high schools across the nation.

This year the publication reviewed more than 24,000 public schools, including charter, magnet and traditional high schools across the country. Nearly 17,660 of the schools that were reviewed were ranked by the magazine.

Nationally, Eastmark High ranked 3,459th and Queen Creek High ranked  4,538th,

The rankings are based on college readiness, state assessment proficiency, state assessment performance, underserved student performance, college curriculum breadth and graduation rate.

According to the magazine, Eastmark High’s Advanced Placement participation rate is 45%; total minority enrollment is 38% and 14% of students are economically disadvantaged. Out of a possible score of 100, Eastmark scored an 80.41. Ninth through 12^th grade enrollment at the school was reported by the publication at 1,119.

As for Queen Creek High, the Advanced Placement participation rate is 26%. The total minority enrollment is 36%, and 15% of students are economically disadvantaged. The magazine gave QCHS a score of 74.3. Ninth through 12^th grade enrollment at the school was 2,233, according to the publication.

QCUSD has three high schools, including Crismon High, which was not ranked. The school opened two years ago.
