A 70-year-old man died Monday morning in a two-vehicle collision at 40th Street and Cactus Road, police said.
The crash occurred just after 5:30 a.m. May 6. When police officers arrived, they found one vehicle on its roof and the other with serious damage.
Michael Peczynski died at the scene, and the other driver was taken to a hospital with life-threatening injuries but has been stabilized, police said.
Detectives investigating the collision said preliminary information suggests Peczynski was driving an SUV when he failed to stop for a red light at the intersection while heading west on Cactus Road. The SUV collided with a car heading south on 40th Street.
