The Peoria City Council will not change in the next year, according to unofficial results in the 2020 primary election.
Incumbents Bridget Binsbacher of the Mesquite District, Jon Edwards of the Willow District and Bill Patena of the Ironwood District ran for three open council seats and will retain them for new terms to begin next year. The races were uncontested except for the Mesquite District race, in which write-in candidate John Griffin lost to Ms. Binsbacher.
By the end of the night on the Aug. 4 primary election, Ms. Binsbacher had 7,702 total votes , Mr. Patena had 5,606 total votes, and Mr. Edwards had 5,803 total votes.
Peoria City Council members are elected for four-year terms on a staggered basis.
