Harte: RCSCW should allow use of amenities in Sun City West

Posted

Activities such as swimming, golf, walking and working out at the gym are the foundation for a senior lifestyle that protects seniors from being vulnerable to poor health and will provide a healthy resistance to a virus.

Activities that increase breathing and heart rates increase oxygen to the blood that supports healthy organs, heart and lungs.

Sun City West facilities are private. In order to insure this effort will work, we must first and foremost limit our community facilities to Sun City West residents only. No guests, no family, no grandchildren, no friends. It is called social distancing and sheltering in our own community.

It is time to give Sun City West and associated facilities back to the residents and homeowners that pay for them and they belong to. Close our facilities to visitors. We are not an Arizona resort for winter visitors, family members and friends that do not normally have access to such facilities.

As a population Sun City West residents are mature, intelligent, self reliant and trustworthy. With a firm set of rules and procedures we can open up our facilities (golf, recreation centers, parks) safely and get us all back to a healthy life.
