Shaw: State legislator ignores those from other party

Posted

I know that the Sun Cities lean Republican and Kevin Payne ran an uncontested race for the state Senate so he feels that he can ignore Democratic residents in District 21 with impunity.

Still, I find reprehensible his seditious and undemocratic action to throw out Arizona’s duly elected Biden electors — certified by Gov. Doug Ducey and Secretary of State Katie Hobbs — in favor of the Trump electors. There was no fraud, as evidenced by eight failed frivolous lawsuits that showed no evidence of fraud and further attested in writing by Maricopa County Board of Supervisors Chairman Clint Hickman.

The 2020 general election was run by our Republican controlled (4-1) County Board of Supervisors and saw Debbie Lesko (sadly for this reader) win handily on the same ballot with the same tabulation machines. The same machines that showed 100% accuracy when tested both before and after the election, in the manner and the extent prescribed in our election manual.

President-elect Joe Biden won Maricopa County by 45,000 votes, so Sen. Payne somehow feels that it’s okay to throw out the votes of all of those of us in the county and Arizona at large who cast our votes for Biden. So undemocratic.
