Phoenix police have arrested a suspect in connection with the death of a  30-year-old man.

According to an agency tweet around 7:50 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 16, Sammy Antonio Williams, 23, was arrested without incident. He was wanted in connection with the death of Deonsay Adams.

Around 8 a.m. Jan. 11, police said Mr. Adams was shot after brief verbal argument in a parking lot near 35th and Dunlap avenues. Phoenix Fire pronounced him dead at the scene.

Police said the suspect had fled in a light-colored passenger vehicle. On Wednesday, Jan. 15, Phoenix police and Silent Witness released a flyer naming Mr. Williams as a suspect.

He was later arrested Wednesday night near 35th Avenue and Loop 101 and booked into jail Thursday morning.

Mr. Williams faces one count each of first-degree murder and prohibited possession of a weapon.
