Southwest Ballet Theatre to perform ‘The Nutcracker’ in Goodyear

Southwest Ballet Theatre will stage two outdoor performances of Tchaikovsky’s “The Nutcracker” at King of Kings Church in Goodyear on Saturday, Dec. 12.

“For many families, the holidays wouldn’t be complete without ‘The Nutcracker,’ so we have done our best to transition the show outdoors and space out the audience,” SWBT Treasurer Elizabeth Seufert said. “It has been a difficult year, but we are excited to have our dancers on stage again and bringing a little holiday spirit to the community.”

Another change this year will be the production's opening with a winter showcase by Effusion Dance Center. EDC has been hosting SWBT at its new studios in Goodyear since August.

“We could not have done this without our collaboration with EDC, they have been amazing to work with,” Ms. Seufert said.

Doug Ducey from the state of Arizona’s Crisis Contingency and Safety Net Fund in support of arts and culture organizations across the state.

Performances at the church, 3095 N. 140th Ave., Goodyear, are scheduled for 11 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. Dec. 12. Tickets are $18 for adults and $15 for students 18 and younger.
