Sheriff’s deputies are investigating after a fatal collision involving a motorcycle in Sun City.
The incident happened around 7:15 a.m. Wednesday near Talisman Road and Prairie Hills Circle.
The Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office said a motorcyclist was traveling westbound on Talisman, drove off the south side of the road into a tree and then into a parked car in the parking lot of a golf course.
The motorcyclist, identified Monday, April 20 as Bret Gerard Plante, 37, was pronounced dead at the scene. MCSO said he was wearing a helmet.
According to an email from a resident, the motorcyclist lost control while avoiding a golf car. He then hit a curb, a tree and then a vehicle in the parking lot. The resident said the motorcyclist was on his way to work as a mechanic at the corner of Talisman Road and Del Webb Boulevard.
“Every day he drives too fast on his motorcycle,” the resident stated.
According to a toxicology report released July 22, Mr. Plante had a blood alcohol concentration of 0.201, over two times the legal limit of 0.08 in Arizona.
