RCSCW general manager to give presentation

The status of the community under the pandemic and other timely issues will be discussed in a virtual seminar hosted by the Organization of HOAs.

The presentation, via the Zoom meeting app, is scheduled Thursday, March 11. The speaker will be Bill Schwind, Recreation Centers of Sun City West general manager. He will address the issues and concerns of leading Sun City West through the COVID-19 pandemic and other timely issues.

When Mr. Schwind arrived in Sun City West in January 2019, he already had more than 32 years of leadership experience in community service, municipal governments and non-profit organizations. In his previous positions, Mr. Schwind was personally involved in the development, management and operation of numerous facilities, including golf courses, libraries, community recreation and aquatic centers, stadiums and event centers. His duties also included emergency management, conflict resolution, fund raising and land use planning.

The highlights of Mr. Schwind’s previous employment include Casa Grande Community Services director, Arizona Parks and Recreation Association president, Glendale deputy director, Payson Parks and Recreation Department director and Casa Grande recreation program manager.

He served in 2014 as Arizona Parks and Recreation Association president and Boy’s and Girl’s Club of Casa Grande Valley executive board member.

Mr. Schwind earned a BA in Applied Science in public administration and a Certified Public Manager certificate from Arizona State University and a certificate in public policy and management from the University of Arizona.
