Helen joined the love of her life on June 6, 2019 after losing her battle to cancer. She was born on Nov. 16, 1928 in Huron, S.D. as the only daughter of George & Lilian Raabe.Helen attended school in Wessington Springs, S.D. where she was very active in High School activities: debate, theatre, and sports. She graduated in 1945-46 & attended Yankton College from 1946-1948.Helen married her college sweetheart, Eugene Seeley in Sept, 1948 in Anaheim, CA. They returned to S.D. where they both attended S.D. State University at Brookings. In 1950, they moved to Sioux Falls, S.D & shortly after on to Rapid City, S. D. where they lived until 1993. During this time Helen completed and received her B. A. in education from Black Hills State College in Spearfish, S. D. along with raising their two children. Helen taught school in Rapid City for 26 years until her retirement in 1991.She was a member of Alpha Delta Kappa & AAUW. In 1993, Helen & her Husband moved to Sun City, AZ, where they loved the warm weather, golfing, and many wonderful new friends. Along with loving to play golf & bridge, she was a fabulous knitter, sewer, and an avid reader. Helen & her husband loved to travel and enjoyed many wonderful cruises and trips. Helen is survived by her daughter, Deborah (Seeley) Fanning & husband Charles of Sun City West, AZ; four grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.She was preceeded in death by her father, mother, two brothers: Raymond & Gaylord Raabe, husband, Eugene Seeley, son David Seeley, & great-grandson, Blake Stevenson. A private Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family has asked to donate to Hospice of the Valley in her memory or the charity of your choice.
