Goncalves: What has happened to civility?

Posted

I just returned from the Sun City West Post Office where I was attacked verbally because I have a Trump 2020 magnet on my car.

As I was about to get into my car, a woman stopped her car in back of mine and starting screaming “Because of your president I had to get a COVID test!” She continued shouting insults and calling me names and then drove in front of my car while continuing her abuse.

Why do I have to be afraid to show my support for Donald Trump? Trump supporters have been attacked, and in some cases murdered, because of their support. Our political signs and flags have been vandalized and stolen.

Americans have a right to support whoever they choose — no one has a right to attack someone who supports another candidate.

This all started under the Obama administration where he promised to “fundamentally change our country” and he has succeeded. He is the one who started the distrust and criticism of our police. Now we have chaos, burning and looting in some of our cities.

Law and order needs to be restored so our people can live peacefully and without fear.

God Bless America!
