A man has died following a hit and run in Glendale.

Around 7:15 p.m. Saturday, Glendale police and fire officials responded to a collision near 51st and Glendale avenues. Police said a man and a girl were crossing the roadway outside of a crosswalk when they were struck by a pickup truck.

Both were taken to hospitals where the Carlos Chavez Aguirre, 39, died from his injuries. The girl had non-life threatening injuries.

The truck fled the scene and has yet to be identified. However, police have obtained video of what is believed to be the fleeing vehicle.

Police are describing the vehicle as a 2003-2006 Chevrolet Silverado with a custom dark-brown paint color and oversized wheels.

Anyone with information on the case can call 623-930-3000 or 480-948-6377.
