The Wills: Virginia Korte is a Scottsdale consensus-builder, visionary

We need leadership. We need knowledgeable, effective decision-making. We need compassion and a commitment to inclusion. We need Virginia Korte to be our next mayor.

Leadership matters! In times like these, we can’t think of a more appropriate tagline for Virginia Korte’s mayoral run.

As fellow residents who grew up and still live in Scottsdale, we are concerned about the future direction of our city, we feel compelled to announce our support for Virginia as Scottsdale’s next leader.

As active citizens, we believe it is time for strong, skillful leadership in our great city.

Virginia brings significant and decisive experience that will benefit all citizens in these uncertain times. She has served for more than 7 years on City Council and has leadership involvement at Scottsdale Community College, the Chamber of Commerce, the Sonoran preserve, STARS, and is a longtime family business owner. She is the most qualified to lead our city responsibly and with vision into the future.

Virginia is a consensus builder, which is critical within a city that is currently divided over a variety of issues such as growth and budgeting. She supports the nondiscrimination ordinance, advocates for responsible growth, and guides with fiscal responsibility. Her extensive knowledge of how to navigate the percolating financial issues in Scottsdale will be necessary for the coming years.

Virginia’s platform also avidly supports our most critical community needs, such as Scottsdale’s vulnerable citizens, small businesses, and arts and culture (which bring tourists and a majority of tax revenue to Scottsdale). These items are critical to driving our economy and engaging our community in a positive way.

We need leadership. We need knowledgeable, effective decision-making. We need compassion and a commitment to inclusion. We need Virginia Korte to be our next mayor.

We hope you’ll vote with us this August in supporting Korte for the next Mayor of Scottsdale!
