Silver Alert: Paradise Valley woman missing

4:18 p.m. April 9 update

Police officials believe missing endangered adult Laleah “Jo” Ebentier may have received a courtesy ride from the area of 52nd Street and Doubletree Ranch Road in Paradise Valley.

A Silver Alert was issued for Ms. Ebentier after last being seen at about 11:20 a.m. on April 8.

She is 84 years old, suffers from dementia and is reported to have reduced mobility.

After further interviews, police believe Ms. Ebentier may have left her home at about 10 a.m. on April 8.

She was last seen wearing a pair of gold bifocals, a green long sleeve shirt with a black sweater, green/black floral shorts and dark blue Crocs with peach-colored socks.

Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office conducted a K9 search that brought their handler to the 5200 block of east Hatcher Road, which is one street north of Ms. Ebentier’s home on Doubletree Ranch Road.

At this location the search suddenly stopped, police say.

Due to this reason, it’s believe she may have received a courtesy ride somewhere, police say.

The Department of Public Safety conducted an aerial search of the surrounding areas, which yielded negative results.

Officers and police volunteers conducted door-to-door searches include all washes and brown belts, yielding negative results.

Drone flight with forward-looking infrared camera was utilized and also yielded negative results.

A request for MCSO search and rescue team was formally requested to assist.

Additionally, a re-canvas of the surrounding area was made with negative results.

Paradise Valley Police Department requests all residents in the area to check their surveillance, walk their yards and share this message with neighbors to help safely locate Ms. Ebentier.

She was last seen wearing gold bifocals, a green long sleeve shirt with a black sweater, green/black floral shorts and dark blue Croc shoes with peach colored socks. Ms. Ebentier was last seen near the 8600 block of north Via La Serena.
