Scottsdale PD purchases computer tech through GOHS grant

The Scottsdale Police Department received a grant from the Arizona Governor’s Office of Highway Safety in August, which provided the opportunity for the department to purchase a computer, a monitor and a 3-D printer, officials say.
The computer, monitor and 3-D printer will enhance the SPD vehicular crimes reconstruction unit detectives’ ability to process and reconstruct serious injury, as well as, fatal crashes.
This information can then be shared with other City of Scottsdale entities to enhance traffic safety and decrease road closure times, according to a press release.
This information and crash reconstruction will enhance the City of Scottsdale’s ability to share information with other agencies throughout the state and country.
The computer, monitor, and 3-D printer are equipped with the latest technology that enhances crash reconstruction. This information will play an integral part in courtroom testimony, the press release stated.
