Scottsdale PD asks for help locating attempted armed robbery suspect

The Scottsdale Police Department is asking for assistance from the public in identifying a suspect in an attempted armed robbery.

At 4:30 a.m. on Nov. 16, an unknown male suspect approached a female in an apartment complex parking garage at 3300 N. Scottsdale Road, police officials say.

The suspect pointed a handgun at the female victim and demanded her cellphone, according to police. The robbery was interrupted when another vehicle drove into the garage. The suspect fled the area on foot without taking the victim’s property.

The male suspect is described as Black, 20–30 years old, approximately 5’10” tall, and 190 pounds. He was last seen wearing a black hoodie sweatshirt, dark pants, black Nike shoes, and blue gloves on his hands.

The suspect also was wearing a mask and was carrying keys on a lanyard. He was seen driving a 2010-14 white Chevrolet Impala with an Arizona temporary license plate. The suspect vehicle had noticeable paint damage to the front hood and front roof, police say.

A second female was observed on surveillance video in the immediate area and detectives would like to speak with her.

She is described as a Hispanic female, possibly 5’5” to 5’8”, 160-180 pounds, dark hair with pink coloring, wearing an Arizona Cardinals t-shirt, ripped jeans, and red Adidas shoes.

Anyone with information related to this case is asked to call the Scottsdale Police Department at 480-312-5000.
