Mercedes-Benz of Scottsdale, 4725 N Scottsdale Road, recently announced Scottsdale Fire Fighters Association as its October non-profit to benefit from its year long charity initiative helping those harmed by the pandemic.
The Sottsdale dealership selected Scottsdale Fire Fighters Association as its fourth Arizona charity to receive a $5,000 donation this month as part of its D.R.I.V.E Initiative its – Donations for Recovery & Investment that are Very Essential – as a way to help Valley charities recover following the pandemic.
Many have been decimated following the economic downturn, according to a press release, combined with critical fundraising canceled in the spring and fall. The campaign already donated $5,000 to Fresh Start, Arizona’s Children Association, and Matthew’s Crossing Food Bank, the release said.
Mercedes-Benz of Scottsdale chose the Scottsdale Fire Fighters Association to benefit because of the work the organization does across Scottsdale and the Valley, including its annual charity dinner.
“Our firefighters are our first responders, and heroes in our community. They risk their lives for us daily and provide essential services to our community,” said Anita Theisen, co-owner of Mercedes-Benz of Scottsdale, in a prepared statement.
“We know our donation will go to help a variety of charities that the Scottsdale Fire Fighters Association helps throughout the year.”
Among the causes the Scottsdale Fire Fighters Association supports is Scottsdale Human Services, Partners for Paiute, Scottsdale Seniors, and Scottsdale Community Partners, noted the release.
The donation is in time for the Scottsdale Fire Fighters Associations to host its largest annual charity dinner fundraising event of the year called, “Hero’s at Home Plate,” to be held at Scottsdale Stadium on Sunday, Oct. 25, with dinner featuring ball park cuisine outside and on the diamond.
“We are so appreciative to Mercedes-Benz of Scottsdale for their longtime support of the Scottsdale Fire Fighters Association and our yearly charity dinner.
This donation will go a long way in supporting many great causes and we wouldn’t be able to do this without their support,” said Sasha Weller, president of the Scottsdale Fire Fighters Association, in a prepared statement.
A fifth charity to receive a $5,000 check will be announced in upcoming weeks, the release said.
The dealership is appealing to its customers, friends and families to join in donating each month to the selected organizations by sending checks to the United Scottsdale Fire Fighters Charities, PO Box 14935, Scottsdale, Arizona, 85267.
