With respect to former councilman Smith’s recent endorsements of City Council candidates, it is interesting to note that:
(1) he lost his City Council re-election in 2018, in part because he opposed two-thirds of the voters who voted to save the Preserve.
(2) he now is endorsing three council candidates in 2020 who did not support preserving the Preserve.
(3) one of the three candidates he is endorsing for his long city experience was fired by the council for his performance as city manager.
(4) all three candidates he is supporting are darlings of the developers, as evidenced by those candidates financial backing.
It makes you wonder if Smith is still licking his wounds and trying to fight back against those who voted to preserve our Preserve!
