Southbound Loop 101 Price Freeway lane restrictions, ramp closures planned through Sept. 1

The Arizona Department of Transportation advises drivers to plan ahead for overnight and weekend lane restrictions and ramp closures on southbound Loop 101 Price Freeway in areas between Rio Salado Parkway and U.S. Highway 60 for pavement improvements.

They include:

  • East- and westbound Loop 202 Red Mountain interchange ramps to southbound Loop 101 will be closed from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. nightly Thursday (Aug. 26) and Monday (Aug. 31) nights, and also during the weekend beginning at 8 p.m. Friday, Aug. 28, until 5 a.m. Monday, Aug. 31. Drivers can exit Loop 202 at Dobson Road or McClintock Drive and travel south to Southern Avenue to access southbound Loop 101.
  • The two right lanes on Southbound Loop 101 between Rio Salado Parkway and Southern Avenue will be closed from 8 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 27, to 5 a.m. Friday, Aug. 28. The southbound Loop 101 on-ramp at University Drive, on- and off-ramps at Broadway Road, and the off-ramp at Southern Avenue will be closed.
  • The right three lanes on Southbound Loop 101 between Rio Salado Parkway and US 60 will be closed from 8 p.m. Friday, Aug. 28, to 5 a.m. Monday, Aug. 31. The southbound Loop 101 on-ramp at University Drive, on- and off-ramps at Broadway Road, and the off-ramp at Southern Avenue will be closed.  Ramps from southbound Loop 101 to east- and westbound US 60 will also be closed. Drivers can exit at east- or westbound Loop 202 and use Dobson Road or McClintock Drive and travel south to access US 60.
  • The HOV and two left lanes on Southbound Loop 101 between Broadway Road and Southern Avenue will be closed from 8 p.m. Monday, Aug. 31 to 5 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 1. Drivers may use Dobson Road, Price Road or McClintock Avenue as alternate north-south routes during the freeway restrictions.

ADOT advises drivers to slow down and use caution around construction personnel and equipment while work is underway, according to the release.

Schedules are subject to change based on weather and other unforeseen factors.
