Small sisters up to big things in the Town of Queen Creek

‘Dynamic duo’ named Leaders of Tomorrow

Posted

Independent Newsmedia and the East Valley Institute of Technology congratulate both Alyson and Elyzabeth --- 12-year-old twins who call the Town of Queen Creek home --- as they have been named Leaders of Tomorrow in the September 2020 edition of the Queen Creek Independent.

Known around their neighborhood as “The Dynamic Duo,” the Small sisters are up to big things when it comes to helping those in need.

Volunteering since the age of 5-years-old, the Small sisters have raised more than $10,000 for the Queen Creek and San Tan Valley communities, a feat confirmed by the duo’s mother.

“During the COVID situation, Ally and Lizzy turned their ‘stay-at-home’ time into ‘how can we help others time?’ They have donated/volunteered over 100 hours to help impact the community/surrounding community --- they want people to know they are seen, appreciated, heard, and loved! This has been great for the community, but also so great for them to make the most of their time!”

During the past several months, here are a few highlights where the Small twins have volunteered:

  • The Queen Creek Elementary School where they donated art supplies.
  • The Queen Creek Boys & Girls Club where they also donated art supplies.
  • Aimee’s Farm Animal Sanctuary where they provided a cash donation and animal supplies.
  • Faith Mather Sossaman Elementary where they provided their time, a cash donation, and 800 books for the school’s new library and art masterpiece program.
  • Regular volunteers at the ‘love your school’ Saturday efforts where they would clean the school garden, painting picnic tables, painting hallway walls, deep cleaning cafeteria tables, deep cleaning playground equipment,
  • Adopted local assisted-living facility during COVID where the girls provided 105 residents handmade, uplifting items.
  • Made 50 treat bags for Queen Creek first responders.
  • Made more than 150 treat bags and posters for a local hospital.
  • Over 250 rocks hand-painted and hidden in Queen Creed to brighten others’ day.

Independent Newsmedia salutes the Small twins and their volunteer efforts throughout the Town of Queen Creek.
