Public hearings on a rezoning for commercial uses at Empire Boulevard and Ellsworth Road, and for a shopping center and multifamily development at Riggs and Gary roads are to be held Wednesday.
The Queen Creek Planning and Zoning Commission meets at 6 p.m. for a meeting and work session Aug. 12 in the Community Chambers, 20727 E. Civic Parkway. Following the recommendations from the CDC to help slow the spread of COVID-19, attendance at town meetings is limited to 25 people, including members of the commission and staff, to maintain physical distancing. Some members of the commission and staff may attend electronically.
• a request by Jessica Sarkissian of Upfront Planning and Entitlements for a rezoning 6.63 acres from R1-54 to C-2 commercial for future commercial uses consistent with the General Plan. The property is south of the southwest corner of Empire Boulevard and Ellsworth Road/Hunt Highway.
• a request by Sean Lake of Pew and Lake to rezone 12.33 acres from R1-5/PAD urban residential district to C-2 general commercial district for a shopping center development at Harvest Station on the southwest corner of Riggs and Gary Roads.
• a request by Sean Lake of Pew and Lake to rezone approximately 12.58 acres from R1-43 rural estate to high-density residential for a multi-family development at Harvest Station at the southeast corner of Riggs and Gary roads.
