Parsons: Support needed for 'RV Rights AZ' in unincorporated Pinal County

Posted

Our group is attempting to educate property owners who reside in unincorporated lands of Pinal County outside cities and HOAs.

This 1962 ordinance says that if complained about an occupied RV, you will find a Pinal County code-enforcement person on their doorstep.

This ordinance covers all lands outside cities and HOAs which are ruled by Pinal County.

I reside in Arizona City (unincorporated), zoned CR-3. Currently I cannot have any RV occupied on my property.

My own RV is legally stored on my property but cannot be used for overnight sleeping --- such as when the kids, grandkids come for visit.

Our ordinance would allow not only that but you could have your RV on my property for 15 days.

If you had Suburban Ranch zoning (3.2 acres) you could have four (not final) for 180 days. This would be for our Canadian snowbirds who  bring their horses down for the winter in places like Thunderbird Farms or Hidden Valley developments south of Maricopa.

Since we have been taking “all” code-enforcement action we don’t think property owners east on I-10 are aware.

Our group has testified many times since 2013 but because supervisors in Districts 1,2,3, and 5 haven’t heard from their voters, they will not take any action.
