From open court Pickleball (March 3, 10, 17, 24, 31) at Queen Creek Branch Library to  the 10th Annual Roots N’ Boots Queen Creek Rodeo (March 12-15) at Horseshoe Park and Equestrian Centre, there’s a lot going on in Queen Creek. Events include:

  • PAJAMARAMA: 6:45-7:15 p.m., March 2, 16, 23 and 30 at Queen Creek Branch Library, 21802 S. Ellsworth Road. The whole family is invited to the Mary Lou Fulton Story Time Room in your PJs for stories, music, movement, play, and more.   • TODDLER TIME: 9:15 a.m., 10:15 a.m., 11:15 a.m., March 3, 10, 17 and 24 at the Queen Creek Library Mary Lou Fulton Story Time Room, 21802 S. Ellsworth Road. Storytime for ages 18-36 months and caregivers who come to sing, move, listen and play in the program geared toward developmental stages. Tickets available in the library beginning at 11 a.m. on a first-come, first-served basis. Limited to 50 participants.
  • OPEN COURT PICKLEBALL: 10 a.m.-12 p.m., March 3, 10, 17, 24 and 31 at Queen Creek Branch Library, 21802 S. Ellsworth Road. Games are played to a score of 11 and are self officiated. Sign in on the day of and in person to be put in line. Game time is not guaranteed. Limited paddles and balls. Home paddles and balls are permitted. First come, first served.
  • QC deTECHtives: 5:30-7 p.m., March 3 at Queen Creek Branch Library, 21802 S. Ellsworth Road. Held on the first Tuesdays of every month, families with children 8 years and up can explore new technologies and old inventions in this maker program to learn new skills and make fun projects while learning about devices that changed history.
  • SPECIAL NEEDS LEGO CLUB: 6-7:30 p.m., March 4 at Queen Creek Branch Library, 21802 S. Ellsworth Road. The Autism Society of Greater Phoenix presents Special Needs Lego Club. Come and play as Legos are provided for kids while parents supervise. This Lego Club is for special needs kids of all ages and their families. All ages are welcome. Meetings are free.   • SASI GIRLS: 6 p.m., March 4 at Horseshoe Park and Equestrian Centre, 20464 E Riggs Road. Southwest Arizona Sisters, Inc. is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization is comprised of cowgirls performing equestrian drill routines with sponsor presentations at rodeos and other events, plus host community service events and fundraisers year-round. The SASi Girls are the official Equestrian Drill Team of the Grand Canyon Pro Rodeo Association attending rodeos and events locally and abroad. See: sasiattitude.org.

Nashville’s Bill Griese, aka “Sweet Baby James,” delivers a solo-acoustic evening of the music of James Taylor’s greatest hits and gems with vocals and guitar close to the original.   • IEA REGIONAL SHOW: 8 a.m., March 7-8 at Horseshoe Park and Equestrian Centre, 20464 E. Riggs Road. Take the reins as there is no need to own a horse and is open to public school, private school or barn teams for student riders in grades 6-12.   • SAN TAN ARTISTS GUILD: The San Tan Artists Guild meets at 6 p.m. on the second Tuesday of the month, including March 10, at Gangplank, 22240 S Ellsworth Road, Queen Creek. The Guild has a mission is to support, encourage and promote the works of members by providing networking, training, workshops, lectures and show opportunities while building community with the arts. The Wizard of Oz is the beloved tale of a girl from Kansas who follows the yellow brick road to discover the magical power of home. Browne-Yellowhair addresses Writing Biography Children’s Books at the Writers Studio for children’s authors and illustrators aspiring to be a published picture book or juvenile author or illustrator. Monthly meetings offer visits from published authors, illustrators and publishing professionals with insights on the writing process and publishing world; peer critiques and workshops.   • RECYCLE COOKING OIL: The Town of Queen Creek offers a free cooking-oil recycling program to collect used oil, which is used for turning into clean biodiesel fuel. The collection receptacle is available year-round at Fire Station 2, 24787 S. Sossaman Road.
