The state liquor board should approve a license at a convenience store on North Gary Road in Queen Creek, the Pinal County Board of Supervisors recommended recently.
The board in a unanimous vote on a Dec. 16 consent agenda with other items approved recommending that the Arizona Department of Liquor Licenses and Control grant the request.
Kim Kenneth Kwiatkowski is seeking a series 9 liquor store license for Circle K Store No. 2741610, 35850 N. Gary Road in Queen Creek.
“This establishment has been inspected for the minimum life safety requirements of the Pinal County building code ordinance and the requirements have been met. We therefore recommend approval of the liquor license application,” Interim Building Official Dale Garcia said in a memo to Natasha Kennedy, clerk of the board of supervisors.
Land zoning for the property allows for package liquor sales, Interim Community Development Director Lester Chow said in a memo to Ms. Kennedy.
“Since Circle K has listed use as ‘liquor store for packaged sale only,’ this liquor license is recommended for approval,” Mr. Chow said.
A school and a church are near the business. They are Circle Cross Ranch K-8, 35900 N. Charbray Drive in San Tan Valley; and Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 33794 N. Gary Road in Queen Creek, according to a license application.
