James B. “Jim” Lundgren

Jim, age 93, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 19, 2020, with his family present. Jim was born to Herman “Ted” and Mary Esther Lundgren in Madison, WI.

Jim graduated from Chrisman High School in Illinois and joined the U.S. Navy to serve in the Philippines.

After attending University of Illinois and Marion College he graduated from the College of Advanced Traffic in Chicago. His career started with TWA in Chicago, Spector Freight Systems in Indianapolis and finally retiring in 1997 as a tax auditor for Indiana Department of Revenue.

Retirement took Jim and his wife Shirley to warmer weather, moving to Sun City, AZ and a home on the golf course.

Jim will be remembered for his love of family, his love of music, and his incredibly good nature that he offered freely to everyone he met. He always had a smile on his face and saw the good in everyone.

He is survived by his wife of 70 years, Shirley and three children, Jamie Renton (Ray dec), Paula Davis (Craig Jo Bob) and James Erik “Ted” Lundgren (Susan); his grandchildren: Luke Davis, Ethan Davis, Hannah Davis and Sofia Lundgren; his sister, Jeanne Hunt (William) and Pricilla “PJ” Hiner (Joe); and four nephews.

He was a member of Seventh & Eight United Christian Church in Indianapolis and Sun City Christian Church in Sun City, AZ. Jim was also member of the Indianapolis teamsters union.

A specific date for Jim Lundgren’s Memorial Service has not been set due to Covid-19 Pandemic. Friends and family are asked to send their prayers to God, and their thoughts and well wishes to the family. In lieu of flowers the family asks that you go home, play some big band music, and fondly remember a wonderful and gentle man.
