Antique tractors, engines in Apache Junction March 14-15

The Arizona Early Day Gas Engine and Tractor Association’s 28th Annual tractor show is March 14-15 in Apache Junction.

It is 9 a.m.- 4 p.m. both days at the Apache Junction Rodeo Grounds, 1590 E. Lost Dutchman Blvd., according to a release.

Admission is $5 for adults, and kids 12 and under are free.
The show will feature more than 200 antique tractors and engines, tractor parades, and tractor pulls. There will also be antique engine demonstrations, along with many antique cars and trucks and lots of food vendors.

Most of Queen Creek resident Phil Frandsen’s collection will be on display.

He has been collecting and restoring real working “antique” farm tractors for about 30 years and owns about three dozen of them.

Mr. Frandsen is one of about 600 members of the Arizona Early Day Gas Engine and Tractor Association whose goal it is to preserve the history of farm machinery and gas engines used in the state.

This year the show will feature a free “Kid’s Drive” 10 a.m.-2 p.m. on both Saturday and Sunday. Kids --- and adults --- will get to drive a tractor in low gear with an experienced driver working beside them. Each kid driver will receive a certificate of achievement and a lollipop after their drive.

Bring the entire family and enjoy a day near the foot of the beautiful Superstition Mountains. Many winter visitors from midwest farming communities say that the Apache Junction show certainly has one of the most beautiful venues in the entire U.S., the release states.

For more information, contact Mr. Frandsen at 480-410-1914 or Tim Brain at 602-318-0806.
