Walk, hike, roll: Beat the coronavirus confinement blues with Journey 30

Posted

A 30-day walking and hiking program with four fitness levels from beginner to athlete and para-athlete has been made available for free from Jo Ann Taylor, president of The Walking Connection, which specializes in creating lifestyle media content and programming for active adults, according to a news release.

Ms. Taylor said Journey 30 is an opportunity to accomplish what people didn’t have the time, motivation or inclination to do before COVID-19.

Journey 30 will help participants start moving or move more, maintain fitness during a stressful time or provide new ways to become healthier, she said.

Programing from the Walking Connection includes, walking and hiking adventure travel tours for small groups and independent travelers to domestic and international destinations.

“Our favorite trails and parks are closed. We can’t go to the gym and it’s best to social distance from your regular walking and hiking friends. Our routines are disrupted. When is this going to end?” Ms. Taylor stated in a news release. “Perhaps we need to turn things around. What if we looked at this as a time of re-definement instead of confinement? With time on our hands, we can evaluate where we are, examine where we want to be and maybe at the same time, find ourselves.”

Journey 30 is a self-paced 30 day walking, hiking and wheelchair roll program that can help participants on the road to wellness and help beat the confinement blues. It has four personalized levels for beginners, athletes and para-athletes.

Participates may download the printable activity schedule that best fits their lifestyle, walkingconnection.com/journey30

In addition to the activity schedule, Journey 30 features the WalkTalk and Going Places newsletters, motivational and inspirational stories from Ms. Taylor, social connection and community plus the upcoming Great Walks podcast episodes.
