Taronis Fuels setting up shop in Peoria, expected to bring up to 500 new jobs

A global producer of renewable and socially responsible fuel products will be bringing its manufacturing operations and making its headquarters in the City of Peoria.

Taronis Fuels is expected to bring up to 500 new jobs into the city.

The company has secured a long term lease for a 65,000 square foot manufacturing facility near 89th Avenue and Cactus Road, and the corporate headquarters will be located near 83rd Avenue and Happy Valley Road.

About 50-75 jobs will be at the corporate headquarters, and upwards of 400 will be at its manufacturing site.

“The city of Peoria is thrilled to welcome Taronis Fuels to our community,” Mayor Cathy Carlat said in a news release. “As a cutting-edge company that offers smarter technology solutions and head of household jobs, their advanced technologies are the perfect complement to the Peoria workforce. I have no doubt Taronis will flourish in Peoria and I wish them wonderful success as they join our desert oasis.”

The goal of Taronis Fuels is to deliver environmentally sustainable, technology driven alternatives to traditional fossil fuel and carbon-based products.

The company makes renewable fuel products that are used in construction, fabrication, heavy industrial maintenance and other markets, such as agriculture, transportation, shipping and demolition.

Taronis Fuels CEO Scott Mahoney said their products compete in an $8 billion global industry and produce products at half the cost of outdated, dirty fossil fuel products, which has enabled the company’s rapid growth to date.

He said the company’s products offer a cleaner solution to acetylene and propane alternatives, providing fundamentally safer solutions to meet the industrial, commercial and residential needs of tomorrow’s global economy.

The products have been rigorously tested and independently validated by global gas authorities as vastly safer than acetylene, the most dangerous industrial gas in use today, he said.

“After careful due diligence in our site selection process, we are pleased to select the City of Peoria as our home for both our headquarters and our advanced manufacturing,” Mr. Mahoney said. “A number of factors went into our decision, including Peoria’s pro-business culture, high quality of life and strong workforce. But one aspect that really stood out was the customer service and programs that were brought to us by Peoria’s Economic Development Services Department, as well as their partnership with the Arizona Commerce Authority. They demonstrated a strong commitment to our success both in the short term and in the long term.”

We want to help make the industry cleaner through our technology, Mr. Mahoney said.

“We take very common liquid industrial wastes and we convert them to synthetic gases that eliminate the need for acetylene, propane, and other gases,” he said. “Our technology helps eliminate harmful air pollutants, conserve fresh water, and reduce carbon emissions. We are 100% about helping industries be more environmentally responsible without compromising to the need to support and grow the economy. ... Our technology has the ability to completely disrupt very outdated and environmentally harmful fuel products that are very common today, and is vastly safer, making workers who cut and manipulate metal much safer in their daily work. We help traditional American businesses to be much more efficient, provide their workers a safer product, and help made the world a clear place for our children’s future.”
