Peoria Unified CTE director to resign, take position in federal government

A long-time Peoria Unifed administrator is taking a position with the federal government in Washington.

Patti Beltram will resign from her position as the district's career and technical education director, effective Oct. 9.

She has accepted a position at the U.S. Department of Education, Office of Career, Technical and Adult Education as an Education Program Specialist.

"I look forward to working for the U.S. Department of Education, Office of Career Technical and Adult Education," she said.

"I would like to thank Peoria Unified's CTE Department, Peoria Unified and the CTE Advisory Commission for taking Peoria Unified's CTE program to the highest level. Peoria Unified's CTE graduates have the best opportunities for successful careers as a result."

Ms. Beltram will work remotely in the positon in Arizona until the end of December and take up residence in Washington  after that.

She worked for the district for more than 15 years, carving out the district's CTE program locally and at the state and national levels.

Ms. Beltram has a  doctorate in educational leadership from Northern Arizona University and a master's in organizational management from University of Phoenix.
