Peoria resident Jan Leighton, of JD Campbell Realty, was named the Arizona Realtors 2021 president.

She will serve with 2021 President-elect Gary Nelson of Realty Executives in Flagstaff, 2021 First Vice President Eric Gibbs of Realty One Group Integrity in Tucson, and Treasurer Shelley Ostrowski of Reality One Group Gateway in Yuma.

Their terms will begin Dec. 1.

Ms. Leighton’s other leadership roles include 2019 Vice President of Arizona Association of Realtors and 2008 President of West Maricopa County Regional Association of Realtors®.

“We are extremely proud to have Jan lead our executive team in 2021,” Arizona Realtors CEO Michelle Lind, said in a news release. “With Jan’s leadership, I am confident our association will continue to build on our previous successes and continue being the voice of the Arizona real estate industry.”

Arizona Realtors recently held its annual leadership conference to install its 2021 state and regional association officers and recognize members for outstanding leadership, community contributions and professional achievements.

Arizona Realtors presented its 2020 Distinguished Service Award to Lori Doerfler of Realty ONE Group, Mountain Desert in Lake Havasu. This award recognizes a member who has tirelessly provided meaningful service to the association, while having a positive impact on association members.

Ms. Doerfler has been a Realtor for more than 17 years, filling multiple leadership roles including 2018 president of Arizona Realtors, 2015 treasurer of Arizona Realtors and 2008 president of the Lake Havasu Association of Realtors.

She was also honored by National Association of Realtors as Arizona Realtor of the Year in 2018, and served on numerous committees.

The Tyler Strout Vision Award recognizes a real estate practitioner who elevates the profile of Realtors in the community and embodies the association’s vision of the best prepared real estate practitioner with the highest standards. This award was given to high school sweethearts, James and Beth Adams. They lead The Adams Team of EXP Realty with more than 26 years of combined real estate experience in Arizona.

Mrs. Adams served as 2009 president of Sedona/Verde Valley Association of Realtors and James later served as the 2017 president. The Adamses continue to volunteer service to the state association by serving on various committees.

“In a year like 2020, we are thrilled to recognize the continued hard work and perseverance of our members as they continue to make an impact,” Arizona Realtors 2020 President Mary Roberts said in the release. “Serving as president of Arizona Realtors this past year has been an unforgettable and rewarding experience thanks to this great group of leaders and real estate professionals.”
