Peoria City Council meets privately regarding Project Casper

Peoria City Council held an executive session to discuss with legal counsel and get direction regarding economic development activities of Project Casper and potential purchase of city owned property at Parcel No. 200-53-629.
These closed-door meetings, known as executive sessions, are private to everyone except the public body hosting the meeting, legal officials and any invited individuals. The recorded minutes and contents of these meetings are not accessible to the public.
The city council met in executive session at least 14 times in 2019.
Open meeting law states a public body may meet in executive session for one of seven reasons:
Personnel discussions
Confidential records
Legal advice
Litigation, contract negotiations and settlement discussions
Employee salary discussions
Discussion regarding international, interstate and tribal negotiations
Discussion regarding the purchase, sale or lease of real property.
