Also, the city of Peoria and Peoria Unified School District are continuing to monitor the ever-evolving situation regarding coronavirus (COVID-19). The city looks to the Maricopa County Department of Public Health and the Arizona Department of Health Services for the latest COVID-19 information and health safety advice. The decision of whether to proceed with a city event will be based on information from those agencies, and residents will be notified accordingly.
The Peoria Arts and Cultural Festival celebrates the art and cultural environment in Peoria Unified School District schools. All proceeds from the event benefit the Peoria Education Foundation, which supports the district.
“This is a wonderful collaboration between the city and school district,” Peoria arts and events manager Marylou Stephens stated in a news release. “Attendees will get to see more than 3,500 visual art displays and 80 performances from talented students in our community.”
The event will also feature a Kids Zone with bounce houses, food trucks, art activities for kids, high school student dance performances and more.
For the 17th year, the city of Peoria and PUSD continues to partner on this free event that brings students’ artistic talents to the forefront. This year’s festival will also feature Instagrammable walls perfect for selfies, community paintings and the Musical Instrument Museum’s Instrument Petting Zoo.
Some activities may require the purchase of a wristband for a small fee to participate.
